When Daibazaal was destroyed by King Alfor of Altea over 10,000 years ago, the Galra Empire became obsessed with inflicting its wrath upon all corners of the universe.
(Y/N) is the disgraced daughter of the Empire—the child of Emperor Zarkon himself. Betrayed and imprisoned, she endured experimentations by Haggar and her Druids and was forced to fight in the arena. Upon her exile, she finally manages to escape the clutches of her father’s Empire.
She now resides on Planet Solitaire due to her spacecraft malfunctioning, causing it to crash land. She does not know how long she has been in cryostasis for. On Solitaire, she finds the universe's most powerful weapon: The Lost Lion of Voltron.

“Course you are.” Lance smiles, eyes crinkling at the edges, and he wills the remainder of his energy to wish bitterly for a time with more conviction. “Always rushing headfirst into everything, Mullet.”
He knows Keith doesn’t respond, doesn’t bother to turn, doesn’t want to look at the way his edges shimmer with something incorporeal, doesn’t want to touch and feel nothing in his hands except for air and transience. “Where are you even?” Lance manages to croak out. He’s asked the question billions of times, and he knows the answer, but it’s like it’s torn out of his throat, a broken man’s final attempt at courage.
“Don’t know,” comes Keith’s ghostly whisper, and Lance knows he’s running himself dry trying to figure it out too.
—Lance feels as though his life has been delineated into seven solidarity periods— each either building or breaking him into the shadow of a fighter he is now—and settles on New Altea as a planetary ambassador feeling fractured. It takes one disappearing act, conducted in an eerily perfect silence by one Keith Kogane, for him to rediscover what it feels like to be whole again.

"Stop dating my baby brother, you idiot," Veronica spat out, appearing as a kind of valkyrie, all outrage and fury that didn't seem to displease Acxa too much, "You don't deserve Lance."
Anyone else would have tried to prove otherwise, perhaps leaving themselves in declarations of love that would have made Shakespeare cry or something like that. Lance didn't want the Bard to be bothered, but a declaration of love like in the movies he saw as a child would have been great.
Too bad Keith approached it all like a damn fight, and retorted, "You know what, I'm going to start dating him even harder."
"What's that supposed to mean?!"
Keith stood up, with difficulty, alone, his nose a little crooked and all red," You know what it means."
(Lance has a boyfriend, now. Veronica doesn't like said boyfriend. Not at all!)

If only one of the obstacles weren’t Voltron’s paladins themselves. The team is a work in progress. The tension of forgotten memories and love causes emotional walls to build themselves.

Shiro runs out the building, Acxa at his heels carrying the little girl, as Antok and Ilun grab the hoses they leave behind. Burnt skin filters through the mask—or maybe he’s just imagining it—as he carrying the limp body in his arms. Kolivan greets him when they emerge, waving him towards the ambulance.
Lance has never seen Keith so still before.
Did he think of her when he went to find that girl? Did he break his promise to be careful because he was thinking of Andy in that girl’s place, and that he would’ve wanted someone, anyone, to save his little girl?

Or, the cycle of death and loneliness spun when Keith was a child and it took his dad. All grown up and with a young daughter, the wheel makes it round.

At first, it seems like the planet’s wealth of resources might be exactly what his family needs for a better life. But when Lance discovers there’s an entire alien civilization living there—and finds himself forming a tentative bond with a curious (and pretty) alien—he realizes the right choice might not be so clear after all.

Keith Kogane is an introvert, and has been abused by his dad for years and has kept it a secret from everyone. More and more bruises apear in Keith's body, and the amount of scars on Keith's body triples. Keith keeps pushing away his friends, and his siblings. Keith is not really ecstatic about meeting his soulmate, he believes that it wouldn't be fair for whoever his soulmate is, to be stuck with someone like him.
Lance is an extravert, the complete opposite of Keith. Lance is considered to be the school's 'badboy' and gets into too many fights for his families liking, but they love him regardless. Lance is your classic badboy flirtatious bisexual Cuban boy. When Lance was a little kid, he lost his dad, this caused him to push everyone away. His mum remarried, but then he left her. He became a cold person, which lead him to be the person he is today. To this day he still blames himself for not doing anything to save his dad. Lance is extremely excited to meet his soulmate, and will do anything for them.
