As soon as they're found they disappear, taking their possessor along with them. With the team quickly dwindling, they have little time to uncover the truth and find the others, before the planet's very own essence is lost to time.
Or: action/adventure with bits of humor and drama, focusing on an introverted Shadow's investigation and dealing with Sonic and Tails far more than he should be contractually obligated to.
Never mind being forced to face his past in the process.
