Adoration crossing his face for a second, hiding the negative feelings. “I regret leaving you.” My heart skipped a beat as he reached over to tuck a strand of my hair behind my ear. Toby’s index finger lingered a bit, causing my earring to sway. “You weren’t given much of a choice, Toby.” He sighed, knowing that I was right. But it didn’t make him feel much better about himself.

Lose a friend, keep a friend, everything was temporary, it never seemed to last. Legal, illegal, nothing seems to matter to him anymore. His life seemed to not matter to him anymore, as everyone he knew would be better if he was dead, or better yet alone forever.
