“So… Sephiroth.” Angeal starts, turning to look at the boy. “I was just wondering, but when’s your birthday?”
“I am not sure, but-”
“You’re not sure!?” Genesis immediately cut in. “How do you even know how old you are…? You’ve always been weirdly short for an eleven year old, what if you were wrong?”
Sephiroth frowned, crossing his arms. “... Can I finish what I was saying?” After a beat of silence, he continued. “I decided for it to be the first day of the year, as it at least signifies a whole year passing. I’m not eleven, I’m twelve.”
I suppose that makes sense, although… “Goddess, that’s even worse , you’re twelve and you’re barely up to my chin.” He smirked.
“Genesis, please don’t antagonize him.” Angeal sighed.
“Might I remind you that I am still your superior, despite my age?” Sephiroth huffs. “Due to that, director Deusericus is more likely to listen to me when it comes to which Thirds should get promoted to Second class.”
This little… “Goddess, you are dramatic. ”
He hears Angeal snort, so Genesis elbows him in the side for retaliation.
“Wait, if your birthday was on the New Years… then we missed it! There are no dreams, no honor remains…”
“It’s not that important.” Sephiroth shrugs.
“In Banora they kind of are.” Angeal says.
“Of course they are there, barely anybody lives in Banora!” Genesis huffed. “We should still totally do something for your birthday, even if it is late.”
“You don’t have to.”
“It doesn’t have to be anything big, maybe just a trip to a cafe in Midgar.” Angeal suggests.
“That does sound rather nice. Well, Sephiroth? What do you think?”
“That should be fine, yes.” He agreed
I’m surprised at how quickly he agreed… hm. With a smile, Genesis turns around. “Well then, what are you waiting for? My friend, your desire, is the bringer of life… Let’s go!”
