Summary
Matt Murdock is so intrinsically connected to New York city to me that when I heard the news I had to write about it. When the city is sick, Matt is sick. It's his city, after-all, and he would die to keep it safe.
It's no secret that writing can be used as a tool to process emotions, events, traumas. The world is going through a collective trauma right now. We're rightfully scared. Rightfully in pain. Rightfully in mourning. Apparently, when I feel that way, I write about Matt Murdock.
Please, if your mental health is suffering don't feel the need to read this fic. It's primarily a way for me to search through these emotions. I thought maybe, just maybe, it could be used that way for someone else, too.

Summary
While Jessica Jones investigates IGH she expects to find many horrible things. After all, they made her who she is, and from what she and Trish found, they'd done a lot worse to a lot of people. The last thing she expected to find, however, was the man she thought she had killed at Midland Circle. But after months of experimentation, there is little of the Matt Murdock she knew left in the dead-eyed husk with a host of scars. She doesn't know if she and the others can bring him back into the light, but she'll be damned if she leaves him for dead a second time. Multiple POVs, Jessica and Matt-centric.

“I just want them okay,” he admits, stopping his watering for a moment.
“They’re adults,” she assures him, coming over to let him lean on her.
“I know, I really do,” Peter insists, because he really does know all of this. But he’s also called Claire a few too many times to tell her Matt is currently bleeding out and “Claire his lips are turning blue, I don't, is it his lungs, I can't-” and had to watch Wade grow back full-on limbs to fully believe it. Even those like Captain America or Barnes can only take so many hits. People like Clint and Matt aren’t even that well off in the grand scheme of things. Sure, Matt can pretend pain rolls off of him and Clint can dodge but at the end of the day if they get shot in a vital place it could be the end for them.
“Maybe I should quit,” he thinks out loud, forehead pressed into May’s chest, and is shaken when she laughs.
“Could you?”
