This fic is exactly the kind of thing I was trying to do with Watermelon. I really love exploring how the way Omori treats Basil reflects Sunny's complicated emotions about him in his real world. The way that he, quite literally, desires him and needs him to live, but cannot stand how he feels so guilty for leaving him. Literalizing this via the use of erotica feels really fun and high concept to me and I really appreciate I'm not the only one who's put effort into depicting that.
I also did the same exact "!!" moment as seen in the last chapter with Basil calling him "Sunny" completely by coincidence without having seen this first. It's just a really good idea! I'm also really picky about how Stranger is written so it's really fun that this clears that very high bar :P
