“Did I not make it clear to you, almost nine years ago, that your sister is mine now?”
“She’s not an object.” Buck argued, jumping when Doug slapped his hand on the wall by his face. “Sh- she’s not a po- possession.”
“She’s mine.” Doug growled. “You clearly need a reminder.”
“Ho- how did you f- find me?” Buck asked, swallowing thickly.
“It’s almost cute that neither you or Maddie thought I would have a tracker in her car.” Doug grinned wickedly. “I gave her a reminder about why she shouldn’t cross me. Now I’m here to give you one.”
“Wh-” Buck grunted from the fist that was punched into his stomach, dropping him to his knees.
OR
When Buck takes off after Maddie gives him her keys, he stops in Virginia Beach to think about his next move. He didn't expect Doug to follow him, or find him. He doesn't expect be thinking he didn't want to die at 18 in a random motel room because his brother-in-law wanted him out of the way. When he somehow survives, he runs. He runs for years before finally feeling safe and loved and ready to just live again.

And then the boat leaves with them onboard.

“So let me get this straight,” Eddie said, “You, Bobby and Athena went on a cruise, by accident?”
Buck nodded, “Yep, and there’s like, a bank heist happening or something. But that’s Athena’s problem, me and Bobby are just having fun.”
Eddie laughed loudly, “Now, you going on an accidental cruise I get, but Athena and Bobby? That’s not what I expected. But, hey, at least it’s Athena dealing with the heist this time and not you getting framed for it.”
“Excuse me, you also got framed, don’t pin that all on me.”

“So on the credits they’re down as Nurse One, Nurse Two and Doctor, but the actors are credited as Evan Buckley, Edmundo Diaz and Howie Han, so for ease I’m just gonna use their actors names for them, but honestly guys, I think we have some new ships on our hands. I mean Nurse Edmundo and Nurse Evan are totally married, and like I know Race is married to Anisha, you know I’m a FireCop shipper till the day I die, but I could totally see something happening between him and Doctor Han.” Ew, ew, ew, no way he didn’t want to think about Chimney and Race Banner together, FireCop were so perfect he couldn’t think of either of them with anyone else, especially when one of those people was a man he saw as family.
But the whole his Dad and Buck thing? As weird as it was hearing them being referred to as ‘Edmundo’ and ‘Evan’ and being spoken about like were just characters, they did have a point.
