“He promised I wouldn’t have to do this again, not like this, Maekar. Not like this. Where is he? He promised.”
“What do you mean?”
“I dreamed, Maekar. I dreamed!” Lyanna exclaims, hysterical in her fear. Her hand wildly flying through the air until he grabs it, squeezing tightly. She sobs, her gaze barely meeting his own. This is the first time in their entire acquaintance that she’s ever made him think of Daeron, but she does now. She reminds him of his eldest, caught in the grip of the worst of dreams.
“I was all alone and there was fighting outside and I was so, so, so pregnant. My babe came regardless, and I lived… just long enough to give him to my brother and I made him… I made him promise. He had to promise," she stills, looking up at him with tears in her steel grey eyes. "My baby is dragon spawn, they're gonna kill the dragon spawn!! You have to promise me, Maekar. You have to protect him. You have to. My baby. Save my baby, Maekar! Save my baby! Promise me! Promise me!”

“You lied?” she asks, staring at him. “Daeron. Egg,” she frowns at him. “Not Egg, is it? No, Aegon!” she snaps, rage filling her, but it’s not really the boy she’s angry at, even as his shoulders hunch even more. She breathes, feeling like she’s breathing fire as she turns on her heel and glares at him standing there. So impeccably dressed. So fucking beautiful, for all that she can’t stand the sight of him. “Not Bael, was it?” she spits at him. “Baelor!” she sneers. He flushes, looking so like his nephew it does nothing but fuel the flames of her rage.
“What?” she hears Egg exclaim behind her, but she doesn’t turn to look. Can’t bring herself to tear her eyes away from him.
“Was any of it real?” she asks, he won’t meet her eyes. “Or is lying all you Targaryens are good for?” Maybe Raymun was right.

He doesn’t expect it to be as cold as it is, and he surfaces with a shocked gasp. Rys laughs nearby, his ginger hair thrown back over his shoulder as the boy swims towards him, a brilliant smile lighting up his face. Gods, that’s Jena’s smile! That-that’s Jena’s hair! Those… those are Aemma Arryn’s eyes, he’s sure of it. He’s sure.
“You gotta keep moving or you’ll freeze!” Rys exclaims, grabbing Baelor’s wrist and pulling him along, against the tide of the river. It’s not rushing today, so Baelor has no difficulty following the boy. He put his thoughts of the boy’s appearance from his mind and spends a good little while splashing about with him, soaking up the sound of his laughter, until Ser Arlan calls them both from the water.
