Summary
Fics & ficlets I’ve had running through my head and want to put out in the ether. Mostly Matt whump with a little silliness down the road (esp as I drift more into Avengers crossovers).
Mostly stand-alone, though others in the series can add context for character interactions as that builds. But think of it more as snapshots over time instead of a continuous narrative.
Current theory is that it's how I process my own sensitive senses and chronic pain. But I'm at the point I keep cycling these in my head, re-editing them, and it's becoming a problem for focus and sleep. I'm hoping that getting them out of my head will help me stop #@!&ing thinking about them finally.
I feel like I’ve read just about every DD fanfic on this site at this point, and I'm sometimes unsure if my ideas are actually original versus just an amalgamation of all I’ve read Frankensteined together. To that effect, if you notice something is super similar to something else you've read, then my brain probably looped it in to my own story, so please let me know in the comments so I can take a look to see if I remember it, then credit it under 'remix/inspired by' accordingly.

Summary
“No, it’s not that I’ve had nothing to draw, it's just…” John trailed off, tearing his eyes away from his computer and scowling at his recycling bin across the room, filled to the brim with crumpled papers, abandoned ideas. “I don’t know. Maybe I’m trying to find a beauty that doesn’t exist.”
—After almost thirty years of art being a massive part of his life, John is stumped with the longest bout of art block he's ever experienced. Worried that the lack of motivation may begin to really fuck him over, his friends suggest that he approaches art from a new angle and tries a new style.
So his first attempts at realism prove to be almost uncomfortable. However, when John’s best friend, Smitty, jokes that he should be John's muse for his next attempt, John ends up tumbling down a rabbit hole of realizations, and finds a new beauty he didn't think was even possible in his art, (or his heart).
