Harry stared at the black figure in front of him. He glanced at Tom and saw the fear in the boy. ‘You would be Lord Death then?’ he asked calmly. ‘Lovely to meet you finally.’

The first year (mostly) adheres to the framework of canon, save for crucial deviations. Beyond that point, most familiar paths are abandoned as the story progresses.
