When Kaidou was mocked once more for his poor scores in the physical fitness test, being compared to "a girl's strength", he tosses his head to the sky, covering his face with a hand as he grins. They don't understand the true strength of the Jet Black Wings.
He just needs to leave and... restore his power.
Ummmmm Kaidou is kind of a comfort/self-insert/hyperfixation character who I headcanon about a lot and here was the darkest version I've come up with, in the form of a one-shot. Weirdly enough, I am proud of it.

It’s the last semester of, finally, Saiki’s last year of high school. His powers have been on and off, but his telepathy has stayed strong. It makes sense, since he used it every waking hour of every day. Alongside that, here’s one other thing that’s been too strong lately, hormones. It seems Saiki was a late bloomer. Don’t get him wrong, he’s already gotten used to hearing all of his classmate’s nasty thoughts, it’s shocking that they sit with a straight face listening to lessons with such lewd scenarios floating around in their head. He is, however, not used to his own.

Keith Kogane is hot-headed, rebellious and dangerous. He flies by the seat of his pants with no regard for his safety, or the safety of his fellow cadets. He struggles to conform to the strict culture of the Garrison Flight Academy, with a reputation to his name for being a completely insatiable thrillseeker, an adrenaline junkie. Not only does he not follow the rules of flying, but he's outspoken and snappy. He bites, and he's not afraid to go fist to fist to put people in their place.
Lance McClain is everything that Keith isn't. He's the academy's "Golden Boy". He's annoyingly charming, popular and obedient. He gets to where he wants to be in the academy by playing by the rules, showing up and doing the work. However, Keith's ability to sail through each training session through the use of dangerous and careless maneuvers never fails to piss Lance off.
It doesn't help the situation that Keith finds Lance impossibly attractive, but who is Lance when he's not performing for a crowd? Keith begins aching to claw past Lance's facade and see him for who he really is.
Klance Top Gun themed au because this has been rotting in my brain for like a YEAR. Expect Top Gun references.
