Summary
Brutal.
A word someone would never think to associate with the bright streets of Kyo. But for you? Brutality was commonplace, being one of the unlucky souls perpetually stuck in the slums of Mukurogai. Whatever money you could bring in for yourself from the shady gambling dens you frequented always seemed to bleed away from your pockets faster than you could blink... making an honest living feel like a distant dream you could never see come to fruition. If having to pay a seamstress to stitch up your clothes after a street brawl or buying a much-needed bite to eat wasn't enough to keep you stuck in the unforgiving cycle of winning and losing, then the mere association of you being from the Mukurogai district surely was. Being automatically lumped in with the other thugs, rejects, and bandits didn't make it easy to claw your way up from the bottom...
You weren't happy with the fact that your life was led by cards and dice, you wanted more for yourself, but it felt like it would take a miracle to make that happen.
