    Louis has been alive long enough to recognise a punishment dressed up as an honour. Harry has been reliable long enough to know exactly why he was sent. Neither of them did what they're here for, and the house still smells of what the last pair did to each other.

    “Louis, it’s ruined!” Harry sobs as he picks through what’s left of his nest after a pipe burst in their apartment. “It’s okay, H. We’ll wash it and I’ll go get some new pieces from your mum’s and Gemma’s and then you can rebuild it in my room. I’ll sleep on the couch.” Or the one where Harry builds his nest in his alpha best friend's room and they’re both stupid enough to think it won’t change anything.
