Disease ravaged the world, reducing populations of alpha’s and omega’s, to an all time low. In response to the disease and the loss suffered, a combined effort to re-establish the population was created.
Every five years, a country will draw eligible and unmarked, unmated alpha’s and omega’s to an event called the Hunt. At the Hunt, alpha’s will have the chance to find the omega whose scent is calling to them, and through the Hunt will find their mate.
Captain John Price has missed 3 previous Hunts, however his luck runs out when his name is drawn for the upcoming Hunt. He neither wants an omega or desires to take part in the Hunt, but finds himself in the throes anyway.
He’s avoided it for so long, too long, and with each passing five years it gets harder to control his burning rut’s. This year when his name is drawn, he has little choice but to head to the designated country the Hunt will be held in, and find his omega.

Summary
Every five years there is an event called the Lottery, where omega’s are chosen to be fought over by alpha’s in a gladiator style arena.
Every five years the participating countries take turns hosting the event, wherein the alpha’s fight the others to submission until one comes out the winner and succeeds in securing an omega.

Summary
It’d been hard at first. Women weren't treated well when people turned on each other, both healthy and infected. You were lucky when the virus started;
This winter was particularly difficult. Game was scarce, the ground frozen solid, the older dogs in your pack weakened by sore joints and aching limbs. You had run out of supplies weeks ago, trading your trained mutts for scraps and tools. The only companions were your two remaining dogs, your only hope the compound in the distance, surrounded by wires and gates.
“I come peacefully!” You bellowed, staring straight through the chain links towards the silhouetted figures. They grow closer, slowly, weapons raised and glinting blindingly under the sunlight. “I mean no harm. I would like to know if you have any food to spare. I can trade you for it.” You swung out an arm to gesture to your dogs.
It wasn’t long before Price’s three subordinates were staring at him with wide, pleading puppy-dog eyes. “Can we keep ‘em, Cap, please please please?”
