There will be a time skip of a few years, possible to when Stoick starts to train Hiccup to be Chief and everyone starts to recognize that he is actually very smart and works really hard in the Forge.

An alternate universe where the youngest member of the Diamond Authority was born off-colored. Where instead of the gentle pink that was forecasted, she instead was a striking hue of red. It is for this reason that she was hidden away within the Diamond Palace for eons. Stripped of her title and barred from performing her duties beyond her prison, she was left without purpose. The precious resources required to create another Diamond was simply out of the question. Instead of shattering her, she remained sheltered and protected by her fellow Diamonds, until one day she vanished completely.
Not wanting her court to realize she had created an imperfect Diamond for them to follow, White Diamond had their gems scour every corner of the universe in search of the young Diamond. Not knowing that embedded within a young adolescent boy, on a tiny- frankly unremarkable- planet called Earth held the very monarch they had been looking for. Or rather, what remained of her legacy.

Summary

Alarms blaring as Tommy's room was a deep crimson red from the now low red lights. The unintelligible automatic voice over the intercom was not helping him right now—rattling on about ‘this is not a drill-’ and ‘Subjects: L04-273 or Crow Father, L05-660 or Blood God, L04-851 or Spider Bite have breached-’ and many other names and subject codenames Tommy couldn’t recognize.
Tommy's head was spinning… 'Crow Father', 'Blood God', 'Spider Bite'? Who—or what—the hell were they?! Tommy scrambled over to the large white metal door of his room as he pressed his ear against it; the door was too thick for Tommy to be able to understand much about what was going on outside, but he could hear distant muffled noises. Then, one of the noises seemed to be getting... Closer...?
The slowly growing noise was slow rhythmic thumping, basically the whole room trembled slightly each time the thump occurred. Tommy's head was pressed against the cell door as he strained to hear what was going on outside and Tommy was not shaking- that was just the room shaking! Tommy was so focused on deciphering the noise he had not noticed the growing cracks on his roof…

Especially when he hears about a certain Sith, an aruetii, who supposedly stole the title of Mand'alor but is not Mandalorian? Well, Din has to take his lawful place, right? Hiccup was just that. A hiccup. No matter how hard he tried and fought he just couldn’t be who his father wanted. Who the village wanted. He couldn’t fight dragons, he couldn’t even fight off other kids his age. So when he shot down that dragon he had hoped that maybe he could do something right. Something to make his dad proud. The village proud. But, as always there was a hiccup in his plan. That hiccup just so happens to be a 26 foot long, 2,000 pound, Night Fury. No matter how hard he willed his hand to slice the dragon he just couldn’t. Not when his eyes had shown more understanding than his entire village. Now, Hiccup has a reason to leave Berk. A reason to make new someplace safer for him and toothless both. They deal with the Red Death quickly, using Gobbers forge to melt together a halfway decent leg, and finally finding a home with a new, safe, nest. He just didn’t expect to catch the attention of some dragon hunters who seem dead set on adopting him into their tribe. Hiccup just wants his family safe.
