The Anastasia (1997) au that ACTUALLY no one asked for.
Memories presented themselves hazily and randomly when Henry least expected. These brief recollections were very frustratingly the largest key he had to finding his past; which he had long forgotten after he was taken to an orphanage as a young boy after being found wandering alone with no idea of who he was. All he wanted was to find out who he was and where he belonged.
Alexander Claremont-Diaz considered himself an opportunist. He didn't get the underground reputation of “Greatest Conman in London” with his charming nature alone, which his partner in literal crime, Nora, constantly reminded him of. When rumors began to surface around the nation that the youngest royal son, James, may have escaped death ten years after a violent uprising resulted in the murder of most of the royal family, Alex felt no guilt for seeing the situation's potential. Especially when the only (confirmed) remaining member of the Fox-Mountchristen-Windsor clan, Princess Beatrice, offered a cash reward in exchange for the return of her beloved brother.
Tldr; In 1940s London, Henry is a lost prince and Alex is an oblivious disaster that does the right thing accidentally.

Shane started feeling the effects of the weed after the third blowback, mostly because he felt the tension slide out of his jaw and forehead, his eyes partly closing of their own volition. He also noticed the absence of noise in his brain — even routine plans like what they should do the next day, when they would work out, and what his meals would usually be stuck in the back of his mind, waiting for him.
Now, though: "More," Shane requests, his voice sounding as relaxed as he felt. Ilya quirks his eyebrow up at that, and then gets the glint in his eye and smirk on his lips that means he was going to push Shane a bit.
"Beg for it," Ilya says, his voice low.

He only got like this with Rozanov. He couldn’t explain it, would never be able to even if threatened, but maybe it didn’t matter. Maybe it was just a fact of life. Water was wet, the sky was blue, Shane Hollander wanted Ilya Rozanov to drunkenly fuck him without a condom.
“Of course I want to,” Rozanov rasped. “Stupid idea, though.”

When the next day arrived, he could languish in some sort of regret. But what was Shane supposed to do? He had a brain swamped with alcohol, and Rozanov looked edible. Of course they were going home together.
