Summary
The Quiet Rapture was the furthest thing from quiet Simon had ever heard.
Rocky spent the better part of forty-six years amongst the presumed corpses of his crew mates.
Ryland had calculated that he had exactly seven hundred and thirty portions of more or less real food remaining-
Humanity has underestimated Astrophage. The Algae like creature is far grander, far more intelligent and far more deadly than anyone on Earth could have ever predicted. On their journey to Erid, Grace and Rocky watch as Astrophage absorbs a star, creating a black hole that drags the Hail Mary into its gravitational pull. By the time the two are able to escape, hundreds of years have passed on earth.
Simon was born into a failing world, at no fault of Astrophage. When Earth received the beetles humanity was in disarray, already focused on evacuating their planet instead of saving it. The sun was restored, yes, but humanity was not.

Summary
Simon washes up on the shore of Grace's biodome, heavily injured and delirious, believing that Grace is an angel and that he is indebted to him. Grace is confused and terrified that another human is about to die in his arms.
Slowly Simon heals and Grace realizes just how lonely he really is after all this time.
But things aren't as cozy as it seems on the surface.Yes yes another Simon winds up in the biodome fic, but with a twist!

“I… Colt, I am in completely sound mind, okay?” Ryland starts off, obviously prefacing something. “So, when I say something, I know that it-it’s true. I don’t say just anything without—without fact checking. Scientific method and all that.” Ryland is rambling, some of his words high in the back of his throat in a strange, song like fashion, mostly at the end of his sentences. Colt’s body sends him another wave of wrong, wrong, wrong.
Ryland rips off the metaphorical bandaid and the wound is deeper, more grotesque than Colt was ever prepared for. “Okay. So, I was just in interstellar space. On this ship, for years, but I didn’t have enough food for the longest time. I had to have starved to death, right? So, I think I died, because I woke up on Earth.” Colt’s insides plummet down, down, down a cliff—a familiar feeling since he throws himself off actual twenty story buildings daily.
