"Is proposal," Rocky said.
"Oh yeah?" Grace smiled. He stretched his arms up, reaching until his spine popped. Maybe taking a break from his experiments was the right call after all. "Sounds exciting. What are you proposing?"
"Propose Grace Rocky get married," Rocky said.
Grace twitched violently, fell sideways off the viewing platform, and banged his elbow hard into DGCR screen six.
Rocky and Grace watch a movie and talk about their friendship. Also they love each other to the ends of the infinite, expanding universe.

Three exhales until the smell of burning flesh dissipates. The room smells again like Perihelion’s MedBay, sterile and sanitized, every inch of the walls and floor meticulously cleaned. Pain still sears around its back, crackling like flame around its hip and up its spine. It suppresses a shudder.

Amena wishes her First Mother would stop treating her like a child. She isn't going to get lost at the craft festival! She wants to pick food for lunch, and not have to wait for Gurathin and Pin-Lee to arrive.
She's having fun though. Gurathin and Pin-Lee and Bharadwaj all treat her like what she says matters. And Gurathin is the best at answering Amena's questions, even when the other adults won't.
He keeps a lot of secrets though.
And he just lied to Pin-Lee, Bhardwaj, and First Mom.
They don't know what Amena knows...

Given the subject matter of the scene that initiated your shutdown, I am concerned that showing you would only cause it to re-occur. Eventually I persuaded it to tell me instead of showing me. Apparently it had been a corrupted version of the same clip, but instead of the show characters I had [REDACTED]

Gurathin was acting weird. Weirder than usual I mean.
He’d started hosting the PresAux crew more often, offering up his space for media nights. He was accepting more meal invitations even when he’d had a long day and would have normally declined with a polite excuse. He was letting Ratthi drag him out to live shows of all kinds: plays, communal media showings, pop-up art displays.
Weirdest of all, he’d started going out for long walks around the station. Cutting into his relaxation time to trace circuitous routes past the areas he visited most frequently. He’d always end these outings at the large viewport near the travel docks, the one that gave visitors the nicest view of the planet below. He’d stand there for minutes at a time, gazing out silently at the stars and the planet like he was trying to memorize their exact placement, before turning to retrace his steps back to his quarters.

Of course it didn’t respond. It was shut down, completely gone from the feed. The only thing alive about SecUnit right now was its organic tissue. Still, she couldn’t help but entertain the tiny shred of hope that if she called its name, it would open its eyes and look at her with that soft, world-weary expression it so often wore.
